Yet even as the DOOM Slayer revels in the spoils of his war, another shall rise from the fires;
a dark priest consumed by the Crucible. And even the DOOM Slayer shall weep in his shadow.
Could he be demon kin? Spawned from the loin of a grotesque infidel?
Yet, the seal of the heretic binds him. His origin is as dark as his coming.
This is Urdak, the home world of the Maykrs.
A brief age analysis of the structures and architecture here
indicates that this world is older than any other in our databases.
Similarities can also be drawn to multiple pan-galactic religions,
indicating that the Maykr's influence was not limited to Argent D'Nur,
and that over eons their influence has spread across the galaxy,
and potentially the universe. - Codex Entry by VEGA -
the sentient intelligence assigned to Mars
An analysis of Urdak - possible connections with DOOM (2016)
- Red vegetation - found in Hell and multiplayer map Empyrean,
a region belonging the warrior-caste of the DOOM Slayer - The Night Sentinels
- The twin Maykr statues - perhaps there are more than one, even a lineage of Khans
- The halo and golden cross above - did the Maykrs create the Earth's religions?
When and why were they there at the beginning? Why make themselves known to humanity now?
- The sky of Urdak has the same color palette as the home world of the Night Sentinels -
Are they in the same galaxy?
- The design of the Maykrs is very similar to the Wraiths,
beings worshipped and protected by the Night Sentinels.
According to the Slayers Testament, The DOOM Slayer "wore the crown of the Night Sentinels".
Is he betraying an order of Wraiths?
- The armor of the Night Sentinels has a similar blue and white color scheme to Urdak.
This only supports a connection between the Wriaths and Maykrs.
- Just under the cross and halo, there appears a head built into the architecture.
Is the planet itself a sentient entity? Is Urdak a dystopian society?
- The design of Urdak bears similarity to VEGA as well. Did Urdak influence humanity's advacement
in technology? Did they assist in the discovery of Argent - the perfect and unlimited energy source
from Hell?
The actual nature of The Khan Maykr and the
relationship between Urdak and Hell is currently in speculation.
We will not have any true answers until the launch of DOOM Eternal on
March 20th, 2020.
